Terms of Service
Last updated: 5 June 2026
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of librum.house (the “Site”), the services offered through it, and the Margins community forum (together, the “Services”), provided by ID and Brothers (“Librum Publisher”, “Librum”, “we”, “us”, “our”).
By using the Site, commissioning a service, or creating a forum account, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Services.
1. Who we are, and what these Terms cover
Librum Publisher is a book production studio operated by ID and Brothers, a company registered in Belgrade, Serbia (PIB 114021998, MB 67265378). We serve authors and publishers worldwide. These Terms cover two distinct relationships:
- Clients — people and organisations who commission our services (editing, print preparation, ePUB, cover design, translation, rights & representation).
- Forum Users — people who register for and use the Margins forum.
Some sections apply to everyone; others are marked as applying to Clients or to Forum Users specifically.
2. What we provide
We provide professional book production services: editing and proofreading (English), print preparation, ePUB production, cover design, translation into Serbian, and a Rights & Representation program for Serbian authors. We also host Margins, a community forum about writing. We prepare press-ready and store-ready files. We are not a marketplace, a bookstore, a print-on-demand platform, or a distributor, and for international orders we do not operate a printing press. We do not pay royalties or creator revenue, and we are not an ISBN registration agency (we offer ISBN setup as an optional add-on and advise on the right route).
3. Eligibility and accounts (Forum Users)
To create a Margins account you must be at least 16 years old (or older where your local law requires). If you are under the age required in your country, you may use the forum only with the involvement of a parent or legal guardian.
You may register with an email address and password, or via a third-party sign-in (such as Google). You agree to provide accurate information, to keep your password confidential, and to be responsible for all activity under your account. You may set a nickname and your country; you may change your password and delete your account at any time in your settings. Notify us promptly of any unauthorised use of your account. We may suspend or terminate accounts that breach these Terms (see §11).
4. Commissioning a service (Clients)
4.1 Quotes and orders
Every project begins with a fixed quote and a delivery date, based on the material and scope you describe. A quote is valid for 30 days unless stated otherwise. Work begins once you approve the quote and make any agreed payment.
4.2 Your responsibilities
You confirm that the manuscript and materials you send are yours or that you hold the necessary rights; that they do not infringe any third party’s rights or any law; and that the content is final when handed over for production. You are responsible for final proofreading sign-off and for choosing your printer or store.
4.3 Revisions and change of scope
Most services include two (2) revision rounds, as stated in your quote, requested within 14 days of delivery of the relevant proof. Revisions refine the work within the agreed scope. Requests that introduce new content or a change of direction are a change of scope, re-quoted and approved before we proceed.
4.4 Delivery
We deliver the files described in your quote, built to the published specifications of the platforms you target (such as KDP and IngramSpark). We cannot guarantee the acceptance decisions or policy changes of third-party printers and stores; if a file we prepared is rejected on technical grounds, we will correct it at no extra charge.
4.5 Cancellation and refunds
Governed by our Refund & Cancellation Policy, which forms part of these Terms.
5. Your manuscript and your rights (Clients)
Your work stays yours. You retain all rights to your manuscript, text and finished book. We use your materials only to quote and to perform the work you commission. We do not publish, share or reuse your manuscript for any other purpose, and we treat every file as confidential. We will sign a non-disclosure agreement on request — you can generate one in seconds.
For cover design, on full payment you receive the deliverables and the editable source files, and the right to use them for your book in print and digital form. Licensed fonts or third-party assets carry their own licences, which we identify where relevant. Until a project is paid in full, deliverables remain our property. We may display finished, published work in our portfolio and marketing unless you ask us in writing not to. The Rights & Representation program is governed by a separate written agreement. Nothing in these production Terms transfers any rights in your book to us.
6. Forum content and conduct (Forum Users)
6.1 Your content
You retain ownership of what you post to Margins (“Forum Content”). By posting, you grant Librum a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, store, display, reproduce and distribute your Forum Content within and in connection with the forum, and to reasonably promote the forum. This licence ends when you delete the content or your account, except for copies already shared by others or retained in routine backups, and except to the extent the content must remain to preserve the integrity of a discussion thread (in which case it is anonymised). You are solely responsible for your Forum Content and confirm you have the right to post it.
6.2 Acceptable use
When using the Services, and the forum in particular, you agree not to:
- defame, abuse, harass, threaten or violate the rights of others, including privacy;
- impersonate any person or misrepresent your affiliation;
- post unlawful, fraudulent, infringing, obscene, hateful or otherwise objectionable content;
- post anything that harms or endangers minors, or that sexualises minors in any way;
- post spam, advertising, chain messages or repetitive/manipulative content;
- upload malware or anything designed to disrupt the Services;
- scrape, data-mine, or use bots to harvest content or user information;
- attempt to access another user’s account or our systems without authorisation;
- post confidential or personal information of others without consent.
6.3 Moderation
We may, but are not obliged to, monitor, moderate, edit, remove or refuse Forum Content, and may suspend or ban accounts, at our discretion, to enforce these Terms or protect the community. We are not liable for the presence or removal of Forum Content. We rely on community reports and may act on them.
7. Intellectual property in the Site
The Site, its design, code, text and graphics (excluding your manuscripts and Forum Content) are owned by ID and Brothers or its licensors, with all rights reserved. “Librum”, “Librum Publisher” and “Margins” are our brands. You may not copy, reproduce, frame, scrape or create derivative works of the Site without our written consent.
8. Copyright complaints (notice and takedown)
We respect intellectual property and respond to valid infringement notices. If you believe content on the Site or forum infringes your copyright, email legal@librum.house with: (a) identification of the work; (b) the location of the allegedly infringing material; (c) your contact details; (d) a statement of good-faith belief that the use is unauthorised; and (e) a statement, under penalty of perjury where applicable, that you are authorised to act. We will review and, where appropriate, remove the material, and may notify the user who posted it. Repeat infringers’ accounts may be terminated.
9. Payment (Clients)
Payment terms are set out in your quote. Unless agreed otherwise, work begins after the agreed deposit or payment, and final files are released on full payment. Prices are quoted in euros (EUR) and exclude any taxes, bank charges or transfer fees, which are your responsibility. Payments are handled by a third-party payment provider; we do not store your card or bank details. We may pause work if payment is late or incomplete.
10. Third-party services
The Site links to and relies on third-party services (for example, sign-in providers, hosting, printers and stores you choose). We are not responsible for their content, practices or decisions. Your use of them is governed by their own terms.
11. Suspension and termination
We may suspend or terminate your access to the Services, or any part of them, if you breach these Terms, create risk or liability, or use the Services unlawfully. You may stop using the Services at any time and may delete your forum account in your settings. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination (rights, disclaimers, liability, indemnity, governing law) survive.
12. Disclaimers
The Site and forum are provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind to the fullest extent permitted by law. We do not warrant that the Services will be uninterrupted, error-free or secure. Commissioned work is delivered with professional care, but we do not guarantee any particular commercial result, sales, or acceptance by any third-party platform.
13. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law:
- For commissioned services, our total liability for any project is limited to the amount you paid us for that project.
- For free use of the Site and forum, our total aggregate liability is limited to one hundred euros (€100).
- We are not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential or special losses, including lost profits, lost data, or the decisions of third-party printers, stores or platforms.
Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded by law (including, for consumers, mandatory statutory rights).
14. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless ID and Brothers and its team from claims, damages and costs (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your breach of these Terms, your manuscript or Forum Content, or your use of the Services.
15. Force majeure
We are not liable for delay or failure caused by events beyond our reasonable control.
16. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Serbia. Disputes are subject to the competent courts in Belgrade, except that, if you are a consumer in the EU or elsewhere, you keep the protection of any mandatory laws and competent courts of your country of residence. We encourage you to contact us first at legal@librum.house to resolve any issue informally.
17. Changes; general
We may update these Terms; the “last updated” date shows the current version, and material changes will be noted on the Site. If any provision is held invalid, the rest remains in effect. These Terms, with the Refund, Cookie and Privacy policies, are the entire agreement between us regarding the Services. You may not transfer your rights under these Terms without our consent.
